Experience
In France, Valentine gained experience in field data collection and analysis over the course of several internships and 2 years of work with a non-profit organization. She studied stop-over ecology of migratory songbirds like the Aquatic Warbler, using capture-mark-recapture and telemetry-based approaches. In the U.S., she developed R programming skills at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) with the Forest Ecology lab. Valentine currently assists ongoing research programs at SCBI by developing R scripts to perform analytical tasks and data management.
