Experience

Barbara started at the Philadelphia Zoo as a nutrition intern in 1984 under then-pathologist Robert Snyder, and ultimately became the first nutritionist for the institution. She has a graduate certificate in bioinformatics and has done graduate course work in both animal and human nutrition. She is currently pursuing a master’s in human nutrition at Logan University and is the Species Survival Plan nutrition advisor for the Guam kingfisher, Geoffroy’s marmoset, and lesser slow loris.
