Experience

Anne Baker currently serves as the Convener of CPSG North America and Executive Director of the Amphibian Ark.  In her previous life she worked for 30 years in the zoo field, first as a Curator of Primates and then as a Zoo Director.  Seven years of research on the behavior of non-human primates in Sri Lanka provided a wealth of insights into the behavior of human primates, which proved quite useful during her zoo career.  She has served as a trainer at the Center for Conflict Resolution at Syracuse University, has delivered training courses on facilitation and developing listening skills, and has facilitated strategic conservation planning and species conservation planning workshops for a variety of organizations.  Her publications cover a range of topics including intensive population management, applying principles of animal behavior to zoo animal management, and the role of zoos in animal conservation.
